===> The solo becomes distorted usually reaching full distortion at the 4-7-4 part. I
begin with low tone and neck-pickup and switch to only the bridge pickup with higher
for the later parts. Trey also creates a lot of his trademark “sustain becoming
wail” throughout. I used to be able to accomplish this on my old crappy amp by playing at
volume and rolling the tone knobs all the way forward. The ease with which he does this
due in large part to excellent equipment and his $10,000 Languedoc hollow-body (oh and
superior technique :). You’ll just have to experiment with your equipment.
The solo varies slightly from version to version and I know this is not even a 100%
transcription of the version I used, so any corrections or recommendations are most welcome.
